The astroturf at Burntwood leisure centre is heavily used and a further astro facility will be well used and of a great benefit to all the community

With the rising tide of obesity, and lack of exercise being identified as a causative factor, an additional all weather facility such as a new astro turf pitch at the school will encourage people to exercise in all weathers.
Also as a parent of a child who regularly partcipates in sporting activities at the achool and as the Lifestyle service manager for South Staffordshire PCT I cannot overemphasise the need to establish good lifestyle habits at a young age which continue into adulthood.

This type of resource will be an excellent addition to the area to help the community to access more sporting facilities.

This will be of great benefit to the school and local community – we should be encouraging outdoor activities locally to improve the health of our children.

An all weather pitch should be a core requirement of a Specialist Sports College. The benefits the pitch would bring to the local sporting community during evenings and weekends would be most welcome. This pitch could help generate much needed funds for other college projects.

I think that a specialist sports school would benefit from an astro turf, i have a child at this school who plays football, but also plays for a local football team and with only burntwood baths having an astro turf, we find that our local children are having to travel over to Lichfield, this facility would benefit both the school and local clubs.

This is a much needed facility for the school and community. In addition to benefit of a ‘Sports Status’ school, this should also give opportunity for children and adults in the area to participate more in sporting activities. Something that should definitely be encouraged!

I have a daughter who attends the school and would welcome the addition of an astro turf pitch. This would be beneficial to the pupils’ of Chasetown Specialist Sports College and the local community.

This is a worthy investment for the community at large

The addition of an astro turf pitch would further enhance the facilities available to pupils at Chasetown Specialist Sports College. The wider local community would also benefit greatly as the existing facilities for all weather pitches are limited.

the astro turf pitch willbenefit the local area as well as giving the kids extra in and out of school activities. i think it will be a great benefit for all…. big thumbs up!

A great benefit to the local community, and being an all weather surface can be used the whole year round for various sports. Our children should be encouraged to take part in more sporting activities and Team games.Investment in this project is an investment in the health and welfare of the children and young people of Chasetown and Burntwood

This would be a great facility for local children AND the local community as it would encourage more exercise, develop new friendships and offer the opportunity to become part of a team. It will also develop a strong link between the sports college and local clubs and teams.

I have a son attending the school and a daughter due to start in September. I feel that the addition of a synthetic turf pitch would be of great benifit, not only to the students attending the school, but to the wider commumity as well.

An astroturf will allow the pupils at Chasetown to benefit from taking part in sport in all weathers – a must with the UK climate being as it is.

My daughter attends this school. She is a keen sports person and would benefit by the provision of this facility. A worthy project

This will benefit the local area and youngster – promoting outdoor activities, exercise and a healthier lifestyle. The funding requirement is little more than 11% of the overall requirement demonstrating the commitment from the Sport Centre to this project. I am strongly in favour.

This is a great opportunity for young people in the school & the communnity as a whole to use. It will make a fantastic facility.

An astro turf pitch would not only be beneficial to the children at Chasetown Specialist Sports College but also children and adults in the local community.

An astro turf pitch at Chasetown Specialist Sports College would be of great benefit to the school and to the wider community, particularly to the youth of this are who could channel their energy into worthwhile activities.

I believe an Astro Turf Pitch is a big must for a sports college. It would also be of great benefit to the local community as there is only one other astro turf pitch in the Chasetown area.

A Sports College without an astroturf pitch; are we the poor relations at Chasetown? This project is a great idea, bringing local facilities to local people. Why should we have to travel outside of Chasetown to use facilities that should be available here. This will be good for the youth and adults in the area.

A school with Sports acadamy status should have an astroturf pitch and this one would not only benefit the students, but also local people. My son belongs to a local team, who in the past have had to travel to Lichfield schools to train on their astroturf because the leisure centre couldn’t accomodate. Lets have more local facilities for local people.

The astro turf pitch would be a great addition to the excellent sports facilities already available at Chasetown Specialist Sports college and would be of great benefit to the community.

I have two children at the school and a third hoping to join next year.

An Astro Turf pitch offers a great opportunity for the school and the surrounding community to enjoy sport in all weathers. It is well known hard frosts and water logged grass pitches are cause for concern for many parents, coaches and adults alike, as they are synonymous with injury to athletes.

Also, when grass pitches are played on in a frozen or water logged state, the pitch can often degrade further to a poor standard and condition. Any improvement to the options available to the school and many local volunteer sports groups, which would allow for reduced use during the worst of the winter weather of our limited grass pitches, will obviously improve their quality and ultimately, increase their availability.

On another note, having a facility available for our local teenage population during the early evenings is in my opinion, a move in the right direction. I know Burntwood Baths have held successful events for 14-17 year olds, on Friday evenings, but are very limited because of the high demand for their Astro Turf facility.

The area would benefit greatly from the addition of such a facility and I feel that the school is the ideal place to situate it.

An astro turf pitch at Chasetown Specialist Sports College will create wider opportunities across the whole community enabling more young people to take part in high quality Physical Education and Sport.

Surely an astro turf pitch is a must for a school with sports status. This will benefit the pupils and the community.

As a manager of a local team, we need more facilities in the area to avoid extra travelling to use outside pitches. This would also keep income from the use of these facilities within the school and local community.

This is a top opportunity to expand astroturf provision within the local community. It would be great to see League hockey make its return to Burntwood, as it has been sorely missed by players and spectators alike.

This is a top opportunity to expand astro-turf provision within the local community. It would be great to see Burntwood hosting league hockey once again, it has been sorely missed by players and spectators alike.

This is a fantastic facility for the young people & families in this area.

It is great to think that the council will support this excellent facility for young people & families. Thank you.

Astro Turf pitch would be an essential addition to the development of potential in all our budding sports professionals of the future. The pitch would have the advantage of year round use by students of the college and local community.

An astroturf pitch should be a fundamental part of a Specialist Sports College. Having said that, the benefits the pitch would bring to the local sporting community at evenings and weekends would be key to the future potential of our young and up coming sports persons.

An astro turf pitch at CSSC would benefit the school snd the community. The astro turf would be a huge benefit to the ‘sports village’ and would be used day, night & weekends

Further astroturf facilities in the area are much needed as many local teasm are having to travel to Lichfield and Shire Oak for winter training. This would benefit local sports teams and youngsters.

The astroturf at Burntwood leisure centre is heavily used and a further astro facility will be most welcome by local sports clubs to use outside of school hours.

Additional sports facilities in the area are a high priority. With limited access to existing facilities due to the high demand this additional resource would be welcomed not just by schools but grass root football teams too.

With healthy eating and exercise being high on the Country’s agenda this application fits with key objectives. Team sports also encourage useful skills in children and add to community cohesion. I fully support this application as a Mom to a very sporty 15 year old and Treasurer of a local football team

Additional astro turf pitches are an essential need in the area. With a very sporty son who is often turfed off the existing provision earlier than he wishes, due to the high demand it can only be a good thing. With the Government keen to promote healthy living with regular exercise and the proof that team sports develop lots of skills in children this must be a priority for the ares.

An astro turf pitch at the school for use by the students and the wider community would be extremely beneficial. Maximum use of the pitch throughout the day and evening hours would ensure money well spent.

Both of my daughters attended the school. However this would not be my reason for supporting this project. We need local facilities for local people. Many parents work unsocial hours and aren’t able to chauffeur their children from place to place. Having a local facility would make it more accessible to young people and hopefully encourage them to do something purposeful with their time them. Perhaps, when free from work, mum and dad can join them and maybe part-take in some family activities.

my eldest son attends this school, he and the local comunity would find this a great benefit as we only have 1 other pitch and they can never get on it

I fully support this project for an astro turf pitch at Chasetown.
My children both attend the school and would benefit greatly from this new facility. My son also plays for a local football team and they would be grateful of an extra pitch to train on, especially during the winter months.

An all weather astro turf pitch is a must for a school with sports college status to provide the facilities not only to the pupils but to the whole community to use. Outdoor sports should always be encouraged.

my daughter attends chasetown sports college and i have 2 other children who will be going in the future. the provision of an astro turf pitch will not only provide for the needs of the college pupils but also many local groups in the wider community, it is a fantastic project which, with this improvement will help to maintain the sports college status.

This is a great idea, I have two children at this school and another due to start in September. Not only would it be of benefit to them for sport whilst at school, but also the wider community as I am sure it would be used by local teams.

As a parent of 2 children, 1 attending and 1 about to attend Chasetown I support this project in order to get more people to enjoy sport. In the recent bad winter we have had all out door sports came to an abrupt halt with only 1 facility locally to support the large local population. Also as a manager of a Chasetown Youth team we have trouble with winter training with some teams having to travel to Lichfield and Rugeley for all weather training. Bring it on and look forward to some local children becoming star names in the years to come!!

I feel this would be beneficial to my children who both attend the school. This would also benefit the community as we only have one astro pitch with limited places and time slots available

An astro turf pitch would be of beneficial use to everyone in Burntwood, encouraging more young
people to get out in the fresh air
and play sports rather than just
hanging round the streets.

I have one daughter at the school and i feel this would be of immense benefit to the children and local residents who would be able to use and access the facility

I have two children attending this school and the facility of an astro turf ppitch will be of great benefit to them. They both also play football for local teams and an additional astro turf pitch available to hire by these teams would help as use of the Leisure centre pitch is limited due to the amount of people wishing to use it.

Our plan is to design and build a new full size synthetic turf pitch that will be used during school hours by students and at all other times by the local community (including school holidays and weekends.

The project is part funded by the DSF, together with any additional community funding we can secure.  We see the facility as being owned by the local community we have had many local community associations express an interest in using the facility.

The facility will be available for community use by all ages, sexes and races.  It can be used for both formal events and informal community use.  The facility will accommodate a variety of sports including Hockey, Football, Rugby, Athletics and Cricket.

We want to build links with the PCT to enable use of both the school Sports Centre building and the new synthetic pitch, enabling routes to better health by providing alternative healthy social activities for all age groups.
