To design and build an outdoor adventure playground in the school grounds of Holly Grove Primary school for the development of outdoor learning opportunities for all the children at Holly Grove (currently 360 pupils) and for all the future pupils of Holly Grove Primary school.
To have playground equipment and climbing/traversing walls for adventurous activities and for problem-solving/team-building games and activities. This is linked to the Learning outside the Classroom Manifesto which was launched in 2006.
Below are five key ways in which exposure to the outdoor environment is beneficial to human health:
- enhanced personal and social communication skills;
- increased physical health;
- enhanced mental and spiritual health;
- enhanced spiritual, sensory, and aesthetic awareness;
- the ability to assert personal control and increased sensitivity to ones own well-being.
The benefits of an adventurous outdoor play area would benefit hundreds of children now and in the future.
What a great idea. An adventure playground would benefit all the children at present and for future generations. All children should have the opportunity to enjoy outdoor play and be aware of how important a healthy lifestyle is.
This will be great for us school kids!Its fun and will keep us healthy.theres a wild selection to choose from but they will be fun and keep us happy but what if the year5 and 6 take it over?

I think this is a great idea, it will be used to extend the outdoor classroom in nursery and the design enables it to be used and enjoyed by all ages through the school. I think the biggest problem will be keeping the children off it!!!

This equipment will help to enhance Hollygroves facilites for their children. It appears that no other school has requested funding which goes to show how this school is using initiative & thinking outside of the box!
The idea of an adventure playground at Holly Grove is an excellent idea! I will enjoy playing on it with my friends and it will be there for current and future pupils.
A great way of keeping all of the chidren active and healthy, this playground will benefit all the children present and future in a time where children are not as active at home as they could be – local parks can sometimes be daunting with older children not allowing younger children to play this will fit in great with all the other healthy eating and active ideas that holly grove currently practice.
The addition of an outdoor adventure playground at Hollygrove Primary School will be benefical for the children in so many ways from the initial design through to end usage.

This is a fantastic idea. Hollygrove School in my very bias opinion is the best in the area (thats why my kids go there!). The facilities and teachers are great. This would further enhance the childrens learning experiences. Society these days wraps children up in cotton wool far too much, and doesn’t allow them to explore and use their imaginations enough – this would help do that. Most all it will enable them to learn through PLAY – how wonderful – can I go back to school?

This proposal is excellent with many health and social benefits for the children and future generations of this school. The news is always telling us our children should be more physical and this promotes that in the school but at the same time its fun as well as excersise.

What a great way to further promote the healthy lifestlye message that Hollygrove works hard to deliver to the kids. The wonderful thing about this project is that it’s not only for our children, but our childrens kids too !!!
An adventure playground at hollygrove would benefit all the children. I have noticed that alot of schools in our area already have something like it, so why not us! It would help develop physical activity and social skills. Most of all the children will have alot of fun with it now and in years to come.

Being Healthy is key to the children’s all round development and is vital to enhance and develop physical skills. An adventure playground within the school will benefit all the children giving them the chance to take risks and challenge themselves whilst accomplishing new and old skills.
Many schools within the area have already been lucky enough to have such equipment. Holly Grove should be no different.

It is important that children are encouraged to take part in physical activity when our children face the prospects of obesity and ill health due to poor diet and execise
