COGS plans to move from a temporary base in Lichfield to a permanent one in Burntwood where most of the current activity takes place and where we maintain over 170 gardens for older residents in the area.
At the end of the development process there will be a new facility and business run by, and for, people with a Learning Disability. It will offer long term employment for many, as well as being a stepping stone to local employment for many others. The business will offer work in catering and gardening amongst others.
At the end of the 3 year initial programme, it is anticipated an annual training programme will have enabled 3 x 15 people with Learning Disabilities and related disabilities, to gain the skills and confidence needed to work within their local community whilst being supported by (but not employed by) COGS.
