Our project would provide a training/performance venue for those studying or interested in the performing arts, whether artist, crew or audience.

The grant would enable us to transform an existing store into a soundproofed, acoustically designed area where all involved can experience the process of a performance from load in to get out.  This facility would add specialist skills to our successful work experience programme and would provide a realistic working environment.

The aims are to work in partnership with educational establishments, performance groups and interested others of all ages.

Through workshops, learners can work with experienced technicians in all facets of the spectrum of entertainment and to understand the integration of performers and technicians.  35+ different jobs are required for 1 production.

With this holistic paradigm shift and this project diversity, the majority of the community whether artist, learner, spectator or just curiosity would come to the facility at some point.

Neon studios provides a fantastic and unique platform for all young people aspiring to work within the music industry! Being given this grant and having the venue would only further serve to bolster their value to the society. This would provide the young people involved with a foot up over others when it comes to getting a job where experience is required and Neon is the perfect place to do provide for the future of the music industry

I think this project would benifit many people. I feel that this venue would help people like myself whou wish to plan events but at the moment lack the funds to do so, Neon tudios has given me the opitunity to grow and develope in event organisation and manegment. I feel the ramp would be another great assest to the studio and the community. Kate and Mike are very support of young people and suporrting and making their ideas a reality.

There really is a need for facilities like those proposed as theres never been enough proper backing over the years.
The proprieters already have some first class rehearsal space, better than any we’ve ever seen in the area, so we can assume that the proposed venue would be of the same high standard, bringinf kudos to th area,

I would love to see The Ramp go ahead as I would gain some vital construction skills in the process of transformation!

I think it’s an excellent idea, giving young people and students an area to practice and develop their skills. I really hope that Neon Studios receives the funding they require for this fantastic project!

I think this is a fantastic idea as it will enable people interested in performing arts to develop or improve existing skills which will benefit them and others.

Also it will enable students desperately seeking vital work experience to obtain work experience and hopefully obtain a career which will benefit the industry, themselves and the economy in the current climate.

Overall an excellent proposal.

A great idea that will be of huge benefit to the local community, this project deserves the support of the council.

I am in full support of Neon Sound Studios grant application for ‘The Ramp’ project. Neon Sound Studios consists of a dedicated team who always welcome and encourage involvement from young people and others from the community to gain work experience in their events and projects.

I met the owners of Neon Sound Studios at the age of 14 and became involved with the annual local festival that they organised for the Lichfield City Council. With my new found knowledge and continued involvement in the festival I was given the title of Event Co-Organiser by the age of 15. With their support I gained experience in areas that I know would not have been possible without them. They helped me develop my skills which have made me the confident person I am today.

With this new facility even more people will be able to be given the opportunities that I have had, as these events will no longer be limited to an annual occurrence. I think this facility will be able to be enjoyed by a huge variety of people from the community, those involved in the events themselves and for the audiences.

E. M. Payne says:

Following a visit to Neon Sound Studios, it became evident that they highly prioritise in inviting people in the community to get involved in their projects.

‘The Ramp’ idea is an outstanding one and the community would greatly benefit from it. ‘The Ramp’ would allow more people to get involved with projects involving music and the arts.

I am all for this idea as it demonstrates that Neon Studios are directly involved in helping the community.
